This title in the series ‘Fitzy Helps’ has been written to try and engage young children in eating their 5 a day. Encouraging children to try and grow their own fruit and vegetables and then make simple healthy snacks and meals. Jasmin and the rest of her class have been given the job of growing some fruit and vegetables in the school allotment. To begin with Jasmin doesn’t want to get involved, as she really doesn’t like the idea of digging in soil and getting all dirty. Jasmin prefers to play inside and read her books and do puzzles. However Fitzy and Archie’s Grandad soon change Jasmin’s mind and with their help she manages to grow her very own carrots and strawberries and everyone agreed that they were delicious!
